Main Points - 7
- What are Karanams? Name a few.
Instruments. Eyes, ears, tongue, etc. - Three things required to get any truth in life:
Karanam, Kaaranam and Karta. - Divine power that makes the senses work:
Prana (life force). - Basic question of Kenopanishad:
From where does the prana come and where does it go. - Another name for mind:
Indra. - How can one understand the inner principle?
By merging the senses with the mind and the mind with the Atma. - The Object is the seen. The Eye is the seer.
When the mind is elsewhere, mind is the seer, eye is the seen.
In deep sleep, mind is the seen, Buddhi is the seer.
In Samadhi state, Atma is the seer and Buddhi is the seen. - Story of Yaksha and the devas teaches that:
we should not have ego, and realize that the ultimate power is Brahman. - Yogah Chittavritti Nirodhakaha.
- Great qualities of tongue:
- Sacrifice - throws out sour stuff.
- Patience - moves between teeth.
- Honour, respect - doesn't roam like dog.
- Praises good, criticizes bad.
- Is tender.
- Is sacred, embodiment of Saraswati.
- Permanent, doesn't fall out like teeth.
