1996-01-27 - Saturday - Morning - KBR/KVR allowed us to study (SSP - Solid State Physics). C++ practicals - function plotting + axes + text sizing experiments. Evening letter from A2 (parents) wanting to fix Anch's (sister's) wedding in Oct/Nov, engagement in May. My OK. Saw old diaries for Oct exam schedules, wrote. New TV - Keltron 47 channel remote. 9500/-. Study hours conc Lee. Finished 1 chapter in 2 hours!
1996-01-28 - Sunday - Tomorrow being QM (Quantum Mechanics exam), did GWP (Guided wave phenomena) till 10 o'clock, starting at 6 am. Then wasted 2 hours staring at Mat. Phy (Mathematical Physics), and, horror of horrors - slept till 3 pm! Finally started QM (revision) at 4 pm after newspaper, and really important parts only at study hours - problems left for tomorrow.
1996-01-29 - Monday - QM - 1,2 problems not so well written. On brink of O grade? Started Mat. Phy after lunch. Quite earnestly plodded through Mr. Ramesh Sharma's parts till evening. Study hours, tensors. 50% was left by night. GV Rao's (classmate) intervention for 1 hour when I went to get notes for 1 day - 8:45 to 9:45. Clarified many things, also learnt LxTijkl . Put feet in the water (afternoon) - clean.
1996-01-30 - Tuesday - Woken by You at 3:50 am. Though left 4 marks (out of portion delineated by Prof), felt contented - Your grace through and through. But slept till 3:45 pm after lunch! Then went to (room number) A4, did one problem, read Maugham till bhajan! Finally, 25 pages left for tomorrow.
1996-02-31 - Wednesday - Woke at 3:50 am. GWP comfortable, tho' not so great. Wanting to sleep till 3 pm at 2:30 pm, woke at 2:55. 5 minutes more .... next woke at 4 pm! Started SSP at 4:30 with survey - 14 questions including 2 derivations of LST relation. Cut one (from revision), also cut perturbation derivation of α(ω) - too sketchy. Full "Purcell parts" left for tomorrow.
1996-02-01 - Thursday - Reading for 14 questions and writing two! Two questions, 25 marks each! And CSNK left one! Afternoon slept, evening and night cleaning cupboard and environs with wet cloth and old banian. Tomorrow, buying Kesar Anguri + Rosogollas for B11ites + Ist MSc? Removed spiders and threw them out with broom as per Habbu Sir's advice.
1996-02-02 - Friday - GWP - Sikka Sir going strong. QM - he gave me 50! Tho' I had done one problem (total degeneracy = n2) totally wrong! Minimum 42. After class, did homework. Study hours - Controller talked to us - study well, read Sai literature. Bought Kesar Anguri tin and Rosogolla jar, gave classmates two each and roommates one each. (Rohit Gour ate two, hence the scarcity).
