1992-03-21 - Saturday - CAE (Commerce, Accountancy, Economics combination) exams are also over. All indiscipline, boys going outside without bothering (about the rules). Many boys are not coming back next year - only about half of XII class. Discussed with Shailesh sir.
1992-03-22 - Sunday - Registrar came to talk to us in (room) C1 (of the school). We (students) were (seated) on the floor, teachers were on chairs. (There was) discussion in general, but many were like stone statues (!). (I thought) I created an impression of wanting to go out.* Shailesh sir talked unofficially, talked of his stay as a guest at hostels in IIT, AFMC, etc.
1992-03-23 - Monday - Wrote Physics project from 7 am to 3 pm, submitted. Corrected also. Wrote (Sanskrit) essays too.
1992-03-24 - Tuesday - When (Principal) Habbu sir comes (to our room to check on how well we are preparing for the exam), everyone except Telugu boys and me disappears. It made him irritated. We had a IInd pre-final (exam), 7 to 10 o'clock, before Telugu exam. They gave last year's paper, ditto. Found the grammar questions funny.
1992-03-25 - Wednesday - Because of Institute exams, (since we stayed in the same Hostel, together), 6 am coffee and snacks, 10 am (brunch), 3 pm high tea. Packed my luggage somewhat.
1992-03-26 - Thursday - Went to Shailesh sir for telling me viva at 11:30 am after "lunch" at 10 am. Sat with him reading Sanskrit a little as he corrected records. Thought would finish at 2:30 pm, continued till 8:30 pm. In the middle, he talked of Sathya Sai Speaks etc. 5:30 to 6 pm. Finally he told me viva amid interruptions 9 to 9:30 pm.
1992-03-27 - Friday - Lent my Sanskrit notes to RG, forgot. Got it back by chance, revised.
1992-03-28 - Saturday - (Sanskrit) exam was easy, two choice questions are wrong.
* Many years later, Shailesh sir told me when I was doing my PhD that he remembered me as the only one to speak / raise my hand when Registrar came to school, and that there was some mention of higher studies / PhD? and that I had mentioned that I would do.... or something like that. So probably my thoughts about the impression I created were wrong. My memory is that he asked what do you plan to do, and I said BSc at SSSIHL. He asked if Engineering was available at SSSIHL whether I would take it, I said that yes, I probably would.
