1994-05-30 - Monday - moving to A1

Delay dims memories, especially with a monkey mind damaging the files. So many dreams forgotten completely that this life is also forgotten. I was supposed to give flower* - BVC asked me to. But I forgot to ask S. G. Sir in the morning, and he said he had some work in Trayee, so I should be in the amplifier room. So, RR gave, later I heard Jain Sir didn't like RR being onstage. Many 1st years, quite a few were outside Trayee - too full. Swami says, "Talk less, don't roam". Even these, we can't follow. Shifted some stuff to A1 as tomorrow is Ashtami (which is deemed by some to be inauspicious, and Swami sometimes mentions to people not to start good things on Ashtami).

*Giving flower - This was the tradition of offering a flower for blessing before Arati. Every day at Brindavan, and later at Parthi, one student would get the chance to offer the flower, and one student would get the chance to offer Arati. If there was a Trayee session, two more students would get flower and Arati chances. Swami used to take the flower and stuff it in the pocket of the "flower boy", and He used to take the matchbox from the "Arati boy", light the Arati plate and give the matchbox back to him, sometimes jokingly gesturing, "Don't smoke"
