1994-06-24 - Friday - Swamiji ka kaam karega?

(Woke up at) 3:30, almost not enough (time to do all pending work.) I've forgotten integration techniques. So, ACM (Advanced Classical Mechanics) seems tough. Bath, yoga in good frame of mind. Delicious ragi. (In those days at Brindavan, ragi malt used to be served, or rather kept at the Dining Hall entrance, after Suprabhatam,  before jogging.)

Darshan - boys called by Swami thru Warden, for passing on pens, saris, diaries. Swami not only gave padanamaskar (to the MP group who performed yesterday), also gave saris, pens to girls and boys respectively. Diaries and sweets, too. Some 1000 in all, M. P. group. I was pushed into carrying extra pens, for refilling trays.

Finally Swami went inside, we followed. Extra diaries to security men + padanamaskars. Then, jhoola, the five of us students at His feet. Talking in general, Narasimhan, Bhopal, SS School Indore. Asked Chaitanya + 1st year boy their names, places. Then, (to me) "What is your name?" "Where do you come from?" "Calicut?" Swami refused to see Income Tax man, "Busy", Gangadhar Shetty's recommendation. Reason He told us in private - no recommendations. Sweet and pen - Swami threw to me, too. Then, padanamaskar - asked all of us, "Swamiji ka kaam karega?" (Will you do Swami's work?) Nodded. Kept things inside (Swami had scribbled a wavy line on a sweet carton to check a pen), left with Swami still on the jhoola.

Computer practicals - half wasted due to power cut, half on software bug on bisection program - Got own 3.5 inch floppy. Classical Mechanics - said again, do problems. Talked about experiments for 25th college anniversary.

Trayee - Swami came out as we were putting mics, so He went inside mic room! "Pelli Chesko" ("Get married") to Sir. Songs, not bhajans. Poor singers - Swami wasn't getting up. Trayee - Mr. Krishnamoorthy - MS + Canada devotees' devotion - basement mandir. Then, Anil Kumar Sir's Japan talks. (These were talks by Sri T. G. Krishnamoorthy (probably) and Prof Anil Kumar about the trips they had made to Canada and Japan respectively, where they had a series of satsangs with devotees.)
