1994-07-14 - Thursday - Flower - Swami smiled at me!

Sanjay Sahni Sir came before Suprabhatam for mics for Thursday program (at college), told me to ask S. G. Sir. When the latter got up and had bath, asked - got angry, so no extra mics. 

Flower* chance - unexpected chance!! And when I went up (all the while I was thinking - You love me so much - shouldn't I smile at You?) grinning, You smiled back!! YOU SMILED AT ME! That was enough. 

*Flower chance - in those days, one student would offer a flower, and one student would offer Arati.

For the program, mics kept failing - keyboard wasn't loud enough in music program. Ankur brought 2 mics from Hostel (on BSVSS's bike). I snapped at some 1st year boys for hammering the mic. 1st years music program + dumb charades. Chaitanya Sridhar friction. Afternoon project.

Sai Ramesh Hall - had to fix last speaker on gents' side. Swami came out as I put the stool back. Chaitanya's excitement on "seeing Swami's white hair when the wind blows, Swami dyes" - told him to keep mum. Fast bhajans! Trayee - "Emi Samacharam?" (What's the news?) "Guruvaaramu, Swami" - Warden. Swami obliged! First gave groundnuts to those in front, called, "Amma, mother-in-law" (to call up Anil Kumar Sir, I suppose) and launched (into speech).

Warden told you to "introspect" - you imagined many things. Sad that after so many years also, they've not learnt from Swami. If I call boys, (i) I would be breaking My Word in the announcement that there would be no bhajan in the evening. (ii) public will feel bad. That's why I didn't call. 

Teachers then (during Swami's childhood days) were very different. Swami got a nurse to the house at Kamalapuram on their orders. Pera Raju saw - asked why wandering. Told him the truth - "Good". Ramesh - told to beat him - "Same God in all, can't beat" - You are teacher, I am student. 

Talking of overseas devotees, Swami said, "If I smile once at them, they feel so happy. Today, fat lady, patted on head and asked, "How are you?" "In heaven!"

Pera Raju called home to eat delicacies. Significance of water around + food outside - ants, + offer to 5 elements. Late, so didn't get books, as had to have prayer in time. Told P. R. Rao reason, Pera Raju's support wasn't necessary. Swami takes care of details, too. Kumar, the PT, asked Him to be head of scouts. Father had come, saw swollen hand beaten by ruler + carrying water. But refused to return to Puttaparthi, as "it would cause bad name for brother". 

Kote Subbanna gave knicker + shirt, etc. Still no bus fare. So, ... ("did one mistake" ... spadu, cloveru, etc.)  (Lady of the house not only took the coins from Harijan boy, also beat up badly). (Many of these incidents are also narrated here.)

Then, exam story - (shouldn't be told to students, but ... ) Anyone who has faith in Me, I will never forsake. Then, grandfather Kondama Raju, Subbamma, Eswaramba's death, at His feet. "Father, Venkamma, Grandfather, knew divinity", used to come at early morning, Swami acted as if He was asleep, touched His feet and went. Sai is one who keeps promise once given - Eg. Subbamma died, brought back to drink water from Him.

Till 7 o'clock! Stood on balcony from "Narayana Narayana" onwards, till "Jai!"

ACM (Advanced Classical Mechanics) in study hours. Cleanliness prize distribution, then no RCA-Phono cord - remembered Rajesh Singh didn't return. Ran, prayer on Phono-Phono cord - mic didn't work as switched off. Angry again, at Rajesh. Waited till cooled down, wished You would wake me up.
