1995-06-20 - Tuesday - Vishwanath Sir, by the looks of things, may take a long time to finish - "heuristic style". Library/Seminar hours handed over to CJMR as zero hours are too short - college time advanced by 10 minutes to be on time for darshan (in the evening). So, no library hours. Optics practicals - sorted Sainath Sir's place instead - Swami's Thursday visit. Wrote Optics record.
Notice Board gives Your conversations. Felt (irrationally) bad as stomach trouble --> General category line --> behind. But You arranged for people to get up so that before interviews got over, I was near the speaker! (In those days, there was a speaker kept approximately at the centre of the middle portico, near the upper portico - guests would sit on the upper portico, students would sit on the middle portico and lower portico.) Without pushing/rushing! Then You threw a sweet, landed near, but an 8th class boy grabbed (tho' he had two in hand). But by then, I had repented my blaming You, so enjoyed Your signing photos, giving vibhuti and mangoes to birthday boys, mangoes to workers, too, leaning on scaffolding to ask for overseer.

1995-06-21 - Wednesday - 2 hours C++ - 2 programs - life & mult table - rest of the time cleaning Department for Swami's visit tomorrow. After darshan, another hour. Wrote Optics record. Dust allergy by night, runny nose and congested lungs, swollen fingers.
La Grazia e Proportionata Allo Sforzo (grace is proportionate to the effort - reference to one of the multi-lingual quotes on either side of Vidyagiri). I hurriedly bathed and came for darshan when the others decided to drink tea - You gave me a place near the speaker - You spoke to S4 & Venkatachalam Sir right next to me - "College-lo emi chestunnaru?" (What are they doing in the college?)
Ready chestunnaru. (They are making things ready.)
Emi? (What?)
Swami Vostunnaru. (Swami's coming).
Haan. (vocalizing assent.)
Laboratory antha dirty-ga undi, clean chestunnaru... smiles.
Emi ra, lunch?
Before he could reply, (he'd asked me what was the curry - Rajma - as Swami was coming),
Majjiga pulusu - and some remarks I didn't catch.

A fleeting glance my way? I must be deflecting Your looks by my looks ...
1995-06-22 - Thursday - Breakfast at 6:15 - got up late after Suprabhatam at 5:45. Went and sat in Institute Auditorium - later, came to know that I could have gone to Department. Swami came, went to Physics Department, switched on (the new laser system in non-linear optics lab), AI centre also (which was at that time just below the stairs from the Physics Department), then came to the Auditorium. Prof. and VC spoke + Sriram (student), then You. Matter & energy, α, β, etc. Don't see bad - reflection of inner being. Seek out own faults and see good in others. Holiday again - helped wind up decorations, saw AI lab's Digital system Alpha. Optics record - HECHT notes valuable - must make more ...
You came to the college after eight years (barring discourses etc in the Auditorium). As usual, when You spoke about physics, I felt uncomfortable - stumbling, fumbling, etc with occasional bright spots. (Ah! Swami knows about tropopause!) etc. Feeling should be - Ah! He is revealing a little... (This might have been the Discourse in which You mentioned that there are lasers in the depths of space also - which we later learnt through some science magazine article).
Getting stories of what You did from Chem and Maths boys - pressing Enter key for the DEC Alpha, 3 workstations "Sathyam", "Sivam" & "Sundaram". You sat longer there - atmosphere more spiritual than in Phy lab? Chem boys - La Grazia ... 3 unscheduled stopovers. (meaning that Swami might have gone to the Chem lab next-door to the AI lab, though not scheduled to go there). Anil Kumar Sir (who had been principal at Brindavan when I was there) joined as Botany lecturer, but You didn't talk to him ...
