1995-08-16 - Wednesday - fever, Likhita japam digging

1995-08-09 - Wednesday - Now I've got to clean my hands! (a reference to the quote on the next page of the diary, which says, "Come with clean hands, I will fill them with grace".) Morning - slept again after I woke. Tomorrow exam - today postponed at last minute. Wrote A³ (parents and sister), Muthachan (maternal grandfather) letters. M's sending Feynman Lectures, Goldstein! (as mentioned in the previous entry). Didn't study after afternoon - interrupts etc...

Even tho' You gave place in 4th row, certainly not in tune - not thinking of You even bhajan time - mind on other things ... Talking too much in room, too. "Exaggerated mannerisms ..." etc.

1995-08-10 - Thursday - Muslim holiday - Id Milad - Institute holiday as last time not giving holiday led to a sarcastic report in the press - "sarva dharma ..." We had our exam (704) unofficially today. In the middle, S⁴ even went off, finally kept keys - whoever finishes last, please lock ... Fever ...

You created a ring for a boy outside, hushing people who clapped. Walking along boys' rows - MBA/MFM boys still asking for interview.

1995-08-11 - Friday - Took leave - first leave of the semester - fever. Apparently nothing much was done - only Vishwanath Sir Diffraction.

Fever - couldn't think of You much.

1995-08-12 - Saturday - Prof took KVR's class - says KVR needs only one class per week. Hardware project deadline 2 weeks - so, tried in the afternoon. Problem with delay program - endless loop ...

You called Institute and school teachers for interview - 'Seva, Swami.'

1995-08-13 - Sunday - Sleeping through the day - flu? Morning darshan, no evening darshan. Boys digging for memorial at Mandir.

Teachers went with You outside the Mandir gate, where at the "roundabout"-like structure, they started digging, Vedam, and You broke coconut(s). You went there twice again, while they worked. Evening, didn't go for darshan - fever - boys were going for this work - digging 6 feet deep, putting Likhita Japam books there, Hanuman statue on top.

1995-08-14 - Monday - Second leave (of the semester for me) - it seems only PSN, CSNK & Srinivas (three out of my six classmates in MSc Physics) were there, so only discussed seminars. Half day class, then work at Mandir, one hour each class. I went for darshan on cycle! Rain while returning.

I told Satya (my co-room-leader and classmate) if fever goes, I'll go for darshan - exactly at 2.30 pm, fever went! Seshan came - sat where VC sits, on the ground. You called big German group, many children - "Big group, small room ..." "Bangaru" to Seshan, took group inside! Coming out, told them to come out in German - explaining to Seshan, "English nahin jaanta, German language." Leaving interview room door open (hot), Seshan & family inside room 20 minutes. Then they left. You went to see the digging - completed.

1995-08-15 - Tuesday - Working out salvation (quote at bottom of page is "Work out your own Salvation") i.e. work out fever karma? Pretty strenuous workout. (meaning that I was probably down with fever today also. Since 15th Aug is a public holiday, I did not have to take leave.)

I didn't go for both darshans! Did namasmarana in the evening. Wrote this, too. Fever has reduced. The large German group of 14th (above) (children) had presented a drama.

1995-08-16 - Wednesday - Pretty exhausting classes - Prof going full steam. Practicals - Typed in coding prg C++, sampling prg on Vasavi in the evening, worked.

You didn't come to bless b'day boys at all! So, your blessing gets added weightage. Calling guests, speaking... Yesterday was the German group drama, today film "Bhaktha Ramdas", with Rafi's Hindi songs, in Poornachandra (Video projector).
