1996-04-15 - Monday - Mookambi trip

1996-04-01 - Monday - Cricked neck from bus (journey from Bangalore to Calicut), so I stayed home, read RD, slept and tuned TV & VCR to 13 channels, 12 from cabler. New Keltron 7320R TV. Panasonic 2-in-1 also quite OK. Achyutan uncle + visited. Chapatis Ruby Gardens (nearby restaurant). Slept at 11 pm as I had slept 1 pm to 5 pm. 

1996-04-02 - Tuesday - Cricked neck is the root. Saw SL vs PAK match, so no other thing. I'm leaving You.

1996-04-03 - Wednesday - I doubt if I'll be returning (mentally, during the holidays). Schedule is supposed to return once Anch (sister) comes, but will it? Less incentive to do so.

1996-04-04 - Thursday - After Anch came (home, probably from the Hostel), house is happier, but I'm less bothered about You ... sleeping etc.

1996-04-05 - Friday - Started slightly awry as Anch woke me only at 6:30 am, went further bad. Today, I didn't even remember to say Suprabhatam. How about doing one day (at least) just for You? As You say, these pleasures are temporary, but they obtain! by pulling ...

1996-04-06 - Saturday - Started dining hall cleaning, did guest room & dining hall cupboards. Anoop (my brother-in-law to be) to come tomorrow.

1996-04-07 - Sunday - Long car trip with Anch and Achan (Father), so I didn't start on amp work, so that will be underway only the day after tomorrow. Read GV's 'Many Phases of Matter'.

1996-04-08 - Monday - Bike trip (bicycling down to the city centre) gave speaker Rs. 62, 6-8 inch, full-range, hi tone, 3W nominal, 20W max. Spike protector - Rs. 520 - tossed and bought GG tronics. Anoop stayed for bhajan and food.

1996-04-09 - Tuesday - Potentiometer cleaning oil and capacitors + PCB only needed - all other components from existing stock. Anoop came today also, for lunch. He's coming with us to Kannur on our Mookambi trip (Friday). Anch and Anoop were talking all afternoon when the rest of the house was sleeping. She told me she cried (he wasn't bothered as it was usual) when he said, "You wouldn't take the risk with me?" on Kinetic Honda.

1996-04-10 - Wednesday - One week's diary to be written.

1996-04-11 - Thursday - Tomorrow, we're leaving for Mookambi / Mangalore trip.

1996-04-12 - Friday - Picked up Anoop from MH Blk I (1st block of Men's Hostel, Medical College Calicut) with Anch at 6:15 am, Achan drove till Kannur while youngsters sat behind, Sethu aunty's house to Udupi I (drove). Kediyoor was good, but 225 per room. Anch & I, A2. Achan & I went on a walk, reached Sri Krishna Math, returned, Achan haircut, A2 silk saree buying. 

1996-04-13 - Saturday - Actually Vishu is tomorrow. Went to Mookambi, mostly Malayalees there. Afternoon puja 12:30, lunch & returned. Reached ~10:30, food, toilet at public toilet (clean!) saw Sauparnika. Going back to Udupi, slow going on NH as Achan was on back seat & I got fed up (with back-seat driving), so 50 kmph.

1996-04-14 - Sunday - Vishukkani watch, Udupi Krishna. To Mangalore, reached by evening. Staying in hotel, visited Ajay chettan (Mother's cousin) + parents (he came on scooter and we followed). Girish chettan's (another cousin of my mother) fiancée Sumi was also there. Phoned Pune (Mother's brother, probably) to find Vishu dinner there also.

1996-04-15 - Monday - Last night rain - heavy leaks in the hotel room. Before that, heat - worse than Udupi. Anch & I were in one room, A2 other room, so no problems. Mangalore to Calicut - saw crowd at Mahe for booze, mad buses ...
