1992-08-14 - Friday - Sanskrit 42/50. No mistakes, should have written more details. Sundaresan Sir told us how Swami saved his life in a van with bottles of gases, when it overturned. English - 42/50 including reading marks.
1992-08-15 - Saturday - Independence day - Flag hoisting followed by Rajesh and Kshitij (my batchmates' talks) in Hindi. Competitions in songs, poems and speeches. Worked whole day on Sir's amplifier, giving saturated output at 1/2 Watt. Worked in (room) B4 1/2, only Ananth Rao Sir was there as Jain Sir and Umesh Sir are at Parthi.
1992-08-16 - Sunday - Again worked, made another amplifier with my components, still 1/2 W. Must ask some expert advice. Worked in the library in the morning. Altar* is planned to be a mantapam with Swami's jhoola (made 4 years back) inside. Film "Shaheed".
*Altar - This was the "room altar" for the "altar competition" which was an annual event in Brindavan, with the judging happening on Krishnashtami day. All the altars would be seen by Swami and Swami would pose with each altar, all kept in a row in the Kalyanamantapam, when Swami would come to Brindavan. The picture below was sent to me by someone in 2020. It has several of my 1992 roommates like BK in the front right, so it might be the B4 altar, with Swami, maybe in March 1993. Will check the date later.
1992-08-17 - Monday - Am slipping. Determined not to talk so much, also control ... . Chem prac - we were also told to get out by Narahari Sir as we hadn't replaced the salt solutions after practicals. Did some work in the library. Finished extensive English Reader R. K. Narayan's "Waiting for the Mahatma". LP got 26/30. Morning fully free, also afternoon. Only class in the day was Chem.
1992-08-18 - Tuesday - Chem, he is still hammering us with the script of a slide show, the story of the atom. So many hours ... . Phy 46/50. Sanskrit started imposition and grammar. Phy prac did Sonometer laws as if I am tuning a guitar. Decided to smile serenely and speak only if necessary, if spoken to, and softly.
1992-08-19 - Wednesday - Lots of work for Sunday - Math 102 Summary, Sanskrit homework, Amplifier, English homework, Math 102 and 101 homework, etc. Morning worked out plan for alternating LED blinkers for Altar, which is now taking shape, under veil of secrecy. 1992-08-20 - Thursday - Krishnashtami - Didn't go for Suprabhatam. After that, Nagarsankirtan behind Veda group (I went for singing Bhajan accompaniment) around Trayee. Then bath, Narayaneeya Parayanam, Bhajan, Breakfast. Then, "Get Butter" competition, pyramids to touch pot a storey high. Every room succeeded. I didn't go, but saw. Teachers tried twice, failed.
