1992-10-22 - Thursday - Winter holidays begin

1992-10-13 - Tuesday - Barely completed English. Took it too easy. By Swami's grace, "Waiting for the Mahatma" didn't cause any mental flutters this time. Leaving all these books with Sir for the next batch. Hostel tradition of giving "bumps" or "bums" - catch a person's hands and feet and lift him and kick his "bums" or drop him on the ground. (This had been banned in Parthi Hostel following my classmate's arm getting broken when we were in XI class - arm broke by him hitting the ceiling when thrown up in the air. Both of us wrote XI final exam after the Summer Vacation in the Principal's office - he due to this fracture, and me due to catching chickenpox in Feb-Mar of 1991.)

1992-10-14 - Wednesday - English exam - left 18 marks - no time - very very long paper, new system. Rajesh, Raja Ganesh, two others, completed paper. RS mentioned rhymes like "Ek do dhoti ko phenk do". Says people get frustrated "due to such people only" and go mad as a boy did, or become like Anand Sai, listless and sad. I myself heard the TV at the crucial hour, with U, A inside AVC. 

1992-10-15 - Thursday - Math 101 paper was very easy. Swami's grace. Anch's letter that Amma and Achan are miserable. They don't have anything to do in their free time, Achan feeling bad that Swami didn't talk to him. Washed clothes and muffler etc, wrote letter. Cold much better, wheezing (which had been present for 3 days) now gone. Only cough left - with phlegm.

1992-10-16 - Friday - Math 102 also very easy, but barely able to finish. By Swami's grace, the last question I attempted was easy, and Jain sir didn't snatch away the paper. Saw many nice photos of Swami in Nagamani Poornaiya's "Divine Leelas". Studied Sanskrit in the afternoon, made points for Essay answers. Night milk - some days badam milk.

1992-10-17 - Saturday - Read "Through brown eyes" by Prafulla Mohanti - good simple book, morning till evening. Night - arranged matka as loudspeaker cover. Slept at 9:15, felt sleepy. Physics exam next, so I'm relaxed. 

1992-10-18 - Sunday - Rearranged my cupboard after finishing all chapters except Elasticity from 9 to 11:30 in the morning. Ready to leave (for the holidays). 

1992-10-19 - Monday - Ate bun, toast breakfast, lunch at 10:30 after exam. Laddoos sent by Swami. Didn't do Physics exam very well, as didn't study well, not mentally prepared, but Swami's grace, finished paper, did 10 mark question twice, OK. Sat and studied Chemistry very thoroughly, sitting outside our room. Got Inorganic Chemistry notes from Jagannath II BSc. by Sundaresan sir's orders. 

1992-10-20 - Tuesday - Did Chemistry studies very well. During the preparation, omitted very tough things - strictly to syllabus. Lucky to get Huheey (text) for making notes. Made short notes in pad for all subjects - great aid - Shailesh Sir's inspiration. Rumour that Swami came to city on Sunday without visiting Brindavan. Later, found that Swami appeared to Joga Rao, (who was) admitted to Hospital here, in the night till 4 AM, none else could see. 

1992-10-21 - Wednesday - Wrote Chemistry paper at great length - 4 additional answer books (2 sheets each) plus main book (8 sheets). Matter inside was OK, not brilliant. Paper was easy. Then, packing, picking up books from Libraries (College and Hostel) for Holidays. Bhajanavalis and Swami's books. Sanskrit studies not so satisfactory - commenced at 4 PM. 

1992-10-22 - Thursday - Winter Holidays started - Just like Chemistry, Sanskrit also, lots of pages of GaAs. (This is a Chemistry pun - "gas" in hostel parlance is verbiage with minimal substance). But the paper was easy. When returned (to Hostel after the exam), sad news - bus coming only in the evening as Andhra Bundh. Ate nicely - icecream for both meals, strawberry + puris + pulao. Jain Sir gave AVC keys to put music before Bhajan. Therefore, explored. Then lead with group in Bhajans. More bad news - bus only tomorrow. So, one day gone. Didn't open bedding, slept makeshift.
