A photo from my "Swami albums"
Condensing multiple days into a single post.
1994-03-28 - Monday - Sat in AVC and studied after morning darshan as room had too many distractions - Kshitij etc talking about going (home for the holidays), Sanjay Ravi Calcutta discourse. AVC - Chaitanya and Sonam Sir's bhajans. Around 12.30, monkey mind acted up, and won over conscience. After lunch, Rajesh Singh recording pieces on BPL in AVC with S.G. Sir's consent. Went on till 3, as he was recording track by track on the keyboard 8 track memory. Finally, only one side of the stereo keyboard came (in the recording), not good enough.
Swami sent word through S.G. Sir He wanted songs* just before coming out. So, Kshitij etc scrambled. Because of that, I couldn't make full use of Your Darshan - my own follies. So, after (darshan and bhajan at) Sai Ramesh Hall, sat in AVC and saw Your photos - great help. Still, I couldn't keep fully silent - old habits die hard.
*In 1993 and 1994, Swami at Brindavan would often ask for group songs by the boys - usually during evening darshan time.
Read B stream** passages, Shakespeare etc - nice in a way. My tastes are changing. Putting mosquito net takes quite (a long time) - 20 minutes. Warden Sir went around putting off staircase lights where boys were studying. Maybe because it's not necessary for English. Some sort of madness came over me just before sleeping.
** For a few years, the English course for undergraduates at SSSIHL was divided into A stream and B stream, with different curricula. I was in A stream, so I was reading the B stream passages just for entertainment.
1994-03-29 - Tuesday - Morning demo of "pouring oil on oil fire". So, decided to adhere to Sathya-Dharma, HOLD ON. Moderately successful in doing so, too. ENGL 401 A (the paper code for the English course I was in) - wrote and completed the paper, but marks doubtful, as I may not have answered the questions to the point. As expected, all the questions were unexpected. Wrote as pen went, You prompted. Took books from Hostel Library - Guruvayoorappan and a book on Montessori method teaching children at home. After lunch, college library. Took till 3 o'clock. Then, saw Q paper (for the next exam, Sanskrit, which is the last of the end semester exams) - last two years, Naresh's.
You came (out for darshan) by then - running to the "usual" place, 2nd row in Sai Ramesh Hall. Your graceful looks - to be treasured. Just when I thought, "If only bhajans continue on and on...", You got up.
Then, arrangements for 5:50 pm meeting (at the Hostel). So, till study hours, no study. Meeting - We're supposed to return on 17th May for the Summer Course. No idea of Swami's plans. IIIrd years - proud (of them), except 10-15 - sad, but friendly. Arati, sweet. Study hours - wasted half an hour seeing "Genius" and "Feynman lectures" but then did Character Sketches from text, so on the whole, after exam, day was OK, reasonably proper in behaviour.
