1994-10-19 - Wednesday - Vedic anecdotes

The pull of the "bad senses" as You called them - craving to eat sweets - You indulged, by giving me a sweet after Trayee instead of Mosambi, which was exhausted!

You went out to SRH (Sai Ramesh Hall) only after one and a half bhajan - Ganesh bhajan was by Srikant. Talking to sevadal, just looking around, talking to S. G. Sir. Mr. G. V. Subba Rao - You made him speak on Vedas, and You made it interesting by making him speak of son's upanayanam, his own school days, teacher's tuft a plaything, etc. But predominantly Your glory and the respect Vedic scholars had for You, flabbergasted when You told then (1962) not your way or his, both wrong, taught correct way, which they later saw in a book ...

Today was sleeping till 6:50, so resolved and told Sairam (roommate and co-room-leader) to wake me for Suprabhatam tomorrow onwards. You're keeping me on this side of the border of ill health - quite a balancing act, which usually never happens. The cough is not worsening.

Got the idea to do likhita japam when don't feel like doing anything. When I'm close to You, I don't have any problems - only when I forget You do "the senses come in through the back door." Today, I found that really, 'rest was change of work'. Studying is also rest, when shift from doing something else - walked briskly to library and back - again a pleasure.
