Woke only at Nagar sankirtan - 6 o'clock. Ablutions by 6:30, lines left by 6:15. Mandir was only half full. Devotees packed (the rest of the bhajan hall). Big iron gate instead of Dasavathara gate gives prison look. Some boys went with Gopi sir to watch cricket at hostel(?) after lunch. I was reading Dr. Bhatia's 'Dreams and reality - face to face with God' when T. T. (classmate) came running - Swami had called for work. We went straight into Poornachandra, You were standing there. Fill the pit with sand from outside the shutters, get bricks inside. Worked intermittently till 5 pm. 2-3 hours or more. Passing bags of sand or bricks in chain. You were watching from stage for a long time. Gave us pedas - "Give two each" - in the middle, before the next tractor load came. We were told at 5:00 to go for Darshan. After an inadequate wash, went and sat, but You came only around 5:30 - and as soon as you went inside interview room after almost no rounds - did not go to gents' side - bhajans. Then You came out and walked down the aisle (portico) and talked to someone at the end of the guests' area. If I had moved 6 feet when You were staring outside, I could have been closer to You when You talked. Your wish. Again slept around 7:30 pm or even before that, and woke only after 5:30 am. Actually I woke at 12:45 am and once after that also, but only at 12:45 did I feel like getting up.
