1994-10-31 - Monday - conversations in Mandir

From my "Swami albums" - Mandir. Prasanthi Nilayam. 1995-'96.

Morning darshan is the only darshan for devotees - evening You just come for bhajan and go back after a look at gents' side. I sat in the aisle, so could get padanamaskar twice, nicely the 2nd time. You joked with "Vengataajalam" (Hostel kitchen in-charge, whom You would call that due to his Malayalam accent) whom You asked for in the morning, right during bhajan.

Now, morning news - You were very jovial - "Love wife more than Swami" to Mr. Oberoi, then, when he said she has bukhaar (fever), said 'Boys sing in bhajan bukhaar, bukhaar ... or is it Pukaar?' To Gujarati showing finger for interview, "Bathroom is there, Sir ..." To "Paagal", about to get up at Your gesture to listen to bhajans, "Only bhajans, baitho..."

Went to Chem lab, saw NMR and other instruments - GC, GCMS, micro-balance (Swami said is weighing pan, not balance, as only one pan ...)

To Akhilesh in the morning, asked about a boy's parents (who was supposed to have heart surgery) - from Machlipatnam, he reported.
"Have you gone there?"
"No, Swami."
"I have. The other name is Bandar ... English saw many black-faced monkeys, so Bandar. Good port. All villages also (recited a list) - isn't it, Subba Rao? Though not possible now, I have gone around all over India. Not a village I haven't visited. Calcutta also - ___ took Me." (I didn't hear the name properly, perhaps.)

Later, walked in the drizzle and returned - rumpled hair - asked Warden if it shows - "Koncham" (a little) - so hurried inside to dry it.

Next: defects in new hall
