1994-12-26 - Monday -
Again our obliging teachers let us off, so I did two experiments in Electronics. Only half-day class, 9 to 11, 4 classes. Did some practicals. Afternoon meeting of Cultural Integration group (I'm playing the role of Kabir) in dining hall - saw Chavadi procession. Costumes for me later. Study hours - put tables/chairs back in FC (Western Canteen).
1994-12-27 - Tuesday - Getting up around 5 am nowadays. A busy day, so was kept in Shruti - so You showed me Your smiling photo and not the questioning one Bhajan time. Umesh Sir gave me DAC data sheet for seminar. Warden spoke of going to Karivardhan for go-carts - 50,000 each. Then got a Bangalore address, willing to give (fabricate first) free, as Swami's devotee.
1994-12-28 - Wednesday - Didn't go to the ground in the morning, assuming 10,000 metres (race was going to be held), took oil bath. Action - reaction - Gopi Sir took attendance. Bhajan time could think of You only intermittently - no prior preparation of the mind. Mathrubhumi supplement (about Sathya Sai) will help, I think. Record-writing in earnest.
1994-12-29 - Thursday - A very good day compared to others preceding. Could get up at 4 and write record, could do Class B amplifier. A3 (parents and sister) came, bursting with cheer. They could sit in first line, padanamaskar etc. Then Amma's advice to Raja Ganesh (classmate, in Bioscience) - a doctor is always wanted etc. Satisfaction etc. Bhajans - one slightly funny one shook me out of other thoughts. Seeing Your photos - reminders. College - Spirulina tablets at Assembly - all sorts of benefits.
1994-12-30 - Friday - Today was an apple, golden and sweet, with only 1-2 blemishes. In the morning, my "arrogance" in not wishing teachers etc (W) made me feel bad around lunch time. So, program of improvement fermented. Evening, smeared oil on dry skin all over, so wasn't firm enough on monkey mind. Bhajan time went early with Mathrubhumi Sathya Sai supplement, (but couldn't read), yet You showed me only Your smiling photo. That, along with dinner time thoughts -> I told Nithin and Ram Nishant (roommates) my feelings and got them to promise no film songs in room. Then saw photo on my desk - You smiling at me as I gave You flower on July 14th for much the same idealism. Amma's effect probably catalyzed. Also, getting up early to write record, did QM evening and study hours. A3 left in the morning - saw them at Canteen for 5000 metres (race).
1994-12-31 - Saturday - The last day of college, too. A group of lady students from Haryana had come to see around, Anil Kumar Sir said in the assembly, "most of the boys get O grade - except due to sickness etc" and other stuff. Said "not even female mosquito comes here, but you can go around, these are your brothers." Similar gaffes. Luckily we were in Math Dept and Prof. MGK Murthy was teaching us probability and they didn't enter. They didn't spare even Gopi Sir's room! All 30(?) entered! All the teachers wished us a Happy New Year, next classes would be after Sports Meet.
Photo from my 'Swami albums' - outgoing batch of Brindavan, 3rd year and 2nd MCom, 1995.
Cassette of our Kabir dohe sung by Sudhakar Pant (classmate in Bioscience) arrived. Practised. (I am to play the role of Kabir in a Sports Meet tableau.) With hindsight, I say that Gayatri has worked. Chanting after Suprabhatam, also just before turning in, so that I'm getting up when the alarm rings, at 4-4:30. Then again chanting. So, as I read in "The Physics Teacher", hot air doesn't rise - it is displaced by the cool air - pushing, not pulling. Similarly, Your thoughts are displacing the filth, just as You have told us repeatedly.
