1996-02-16 - Friday - kept on my toes

1996-02-11 - Sunday - Did something whole day, but how useful? Mostly project work. 11 to 12 searched in Library for 'Journey into Light' for Born-Raman controversy. Mandir wrote Intro etc, bought a ream of paper & wrote contents, certificate, etc in study hours. C++ project menus on graph paper, too - found some small overwriting bugs.

1996-02-12 - Monday - Prof had a visitor ⇒ S⁴ could take us to computer lab and we could work for two hours (one and a half, actually). Afternoon - Sikka Sir took class - chirped Gaussian - asked ~10-15 questions! Study hours, read Teachers' curriculum on EHV made by SSS council of SA. Extremely well made. Multiple choice valuation of various values ⇒ I'm lagging in non-violence! 6:45 to 7:45 sat and discussed with B. Srinivas (II MSc Physics) for situations in situation analysis for Awareness class, AWR.

1996-02-13 - Tuesday - Started with Asterix (Black Gold) and ended with Valentine! (In those days, it was common for the students to write Valentine's day cards for You.) Reached dining hall half-way through Suprabhatam (chanted fully in head). Computer practicals in the afternoon - taking Sikka Sir's permission. S⁴ had to get Principal's permission, paavam. Thought should thank him - maybe a card. Finished writing Doctors' Conference Discourse. Now records + projects.

1996-02-14 - Wednesday - Prof took zero hour till half of first hour, so in the foyer session, they did not have mics to practice Shivapanchakshari! (Muralikrishna was sick). Awareness class - Prof Ramdas of IISc on AIDS! c/o Prof KB Naidu (Maths) - went on till ONE O'CLOCK! All sorts of things. Sai Ram. Went directly to computer lab skipping lunch. Error correcting till 3 o'clock! The whole of study hours, copied Optics observations (from the rough notes to the record book) sitting in (Hostel room) A4.

1996-02-15 - Thursday - You kept me on my toes, physically! Morning - went back and forth several times, getting amplifier, mics, putting TV in the room with Satya & Satya (probably P. Sathyanarayana and C. Sathyanarayan Kumar, two of my Physics classmates) in the afternoon ... Then afternoon getting Walkman from Raj for μProf (microprocessor learning kit) loading. After dinner, getting juice for Tarak Reddy (roommate) on bicycle from Sesha Sai (since he was unwell). But academics nearly zero.

1996-02-16 - Friday - Morning - tried S4's tape recorder to read & write from MPF-IP, failed. Afternoon, brainwave that it may be a mono player with stereo jack shorted L & R. Cutting lunch, took Satya's Walkman to play and record on S4's - worked! Returned Maintenance EP jack to Ramakrishna after seeing my hunch was right. Sikka Sir - afternoon 1½ hours, evening ¾ hour - finished coupled-mode theory. Evening, went with Rama & Balti & helped KBR & KVR putting up (audio) system (in Mandir) - over by 9 - early (probably for tomorrow's Shivarathri celebrations.) Slept early - dinner, had tomato soup + butter (chill spot - this was the name of the Hostel eatables shop at that time.) Tarak Reddy's not having solid food due to Dr. Bhatia's "Thief has entered, bete, Hepatitis!".
