1992-12-18 - Friday - Sathyanarayana had found a Telugu book with a girlie picture in DSS's room. No study mood, read Aug 1992 RD at 9 pm. All added up to prepone tomorrow's 'experiment', got results. But decided that such a thing is not good. Chem practicals till 6:45 pm, cut Bhajans. We reach Hostel after 6.30 to 8 AM practice, bathe with plenty of hot water, 8:30 breakfast, 9:30 college. Physics, learning Digital, Karnaugh maps. Drama practice started, DSS cutting classes. 'B' house won football by penalties and therefore Championship.
1992-12-19 - Saturday - In Awareness class, MAK showed us a video of Swami's sayings and photos, another of his Japan trip photos. I came off as A3 (parents and sister) are coming. They brought a cake + banana chips + potato chips + pads, diary. Talked to them, hinting at Brindavan's problems. They showed cricket whole night. I didn't go and India won. Vairagya.
1992-12-20 - Sunday - A3 staying today, going tomorrow. Talked in the morning and evening, (I gave the shawl and photos yesterday). Saw myself in "Mathrubhoomi supplement" of Nov 23. They plan to go with me to Pune in April. They also have got dreams of Swami. Whole day no official activities, Vedam competition postponed.
1992-12-21 - Monday - Morning classes have started (meaning that the schedule has been adjusted to allow for Sports Meet practice). 9 to 1, 5 periods of 45 minutes each. Practicals must be finished in 90 minutes. Bridge experiment in Physics practicals, couldn't complete, dirty soldering iron. Then at 2:30, 10 minutes marching in Sai Ramesh Hall. Tomorrow onwards we will have it in the ground, in the sun. Vedam competition - Sikki got Ist prize for individual chanting, Sanjay Ravi 2nd, and Arvind consolation. Pairs - Mani got 2nd. Ours was OK, but Narahari Sir thought our intonation was wrong. Night - studied Sanskrit, though room was excited dismantling fancy altar. AB Vajpayee, Bal Thackeray, VHP, Congress, Janata, all top leaders have come to Swami.
1992-12-22 - Tuesday - R. Jain Sir came back. Rumour is that his sister has died. Letter from Parthi - Sathya Pramod - Swami calling House captains for interviews, planning Sports Meet programs. Went out of Sruthi. Only way out is to write letter. But the schedule prevents it. Actually, it is just my own laziness. Wrote a letter to Rajesh Grover.
1992-12-23 - Wednesday - Again no letter to Swami -> out of control. What is to be done is stricter control of mind. Sikki selected for paraplaning - boys pulling another boy who goes up in the air. Also Vikram Chauhan. (Both S and V are well-built, so they would be on the pulling team.) So now only two boys left for Dr. Chye. The Chye story - medical student in the far East, rich father. He and brother were kidnapped, brother was cut into pieces in front of him since ransom was not paid. Swami used to give cigarettes, and boys were taking non-veg food to him 5 years back, very violent. Now only satwic food, almost normal.

1992-12-24 - Thursday - "Bioscience Day" - chief guest was an 85-year-old Bio professor from IISc Bangalore. Talks on Heart - C. Karthik, Cancer - Arvind, and AIDS - Navneet. Then wildlife video - power failure. So, the guest spoke - without mike, very loud, clear and straight. Said must improve speaking. Also about his teaching career. MAK (Anil Kumar Sir, Principal) was moved. Marching - Rs. 30 for caps, white shirt and black pant I have. First we march as a V shape with other groups inside, then form a block, then do some splits and joinings, later wave, rhombus, X, +, rotation, ▢ , expansion and contraction. Terribly off-key, both myself and Brindavan. Putting pop music in the evening, Christmas excuse.
1992-12-25 - Friday - 3:45 AM - Santa (Amber) + friends (KITES, IIIyrs) came to our rooms, made noise, poured water/powder, gave bumps to some, Parthish beating with a stick, Cards with personal messages. Then bonfire on B-floor terrace + cards. Nagarsankirtan after Suprabhatam, Tea and 3 biscuits, Bhajan + MAK speech, Ghee roast (dosa) + Noodles breakfast. Then (movie show) 36 chambers of Shaolin (not me). Lunch was usual, but "the Kites", IIIyrs, served. Then, at 6 PM, "Dusk Lahari" started on B-floor terrace. Jokes + interviews + songs + ad skits. I was called for no-yes competition. Then dinner in the lawns, tables from foreign canteen. Candle-light procession in the middle with Santa + Charlie Chaplin (T. D. Anil). Puri + Kashmiri pulao + thick tomato soup + Rasna + sweet puri. All Hogged. Then "Modern Times". Very nice program, but ... "No fun in celebrating Christmas without Him."
