The VCRs were also in AVC, recording Trayee sessions etc. from Bhatia to Hostel c/o Sanjay Sahni Sir. Except minor hitch with VCR not being in AV mode and having to call Bhatia, smooth sailing. Lungi foiled mosquitoes. Recorded the two Sports Meet songs for myself also, the instrumentals into 2 cassettes, "Songs by boys" from 3 Meltracks to one 60 minute cassette, and 3 copies of that on Sony and TDK tapes. Also, a copy of discourse on 2 cassettes orig. for Sandipan Sir.
Finally got over at 4:45 AM. No time to sleep before putting music (over the PA system before Suprabhatam at the Hostel), so washed clothes. After Suprabhatam, Amar Singh wanted to see "just one thing in one cassette", so I said OK - but ended up by bringing 3 cassettes. Then, Chaitanya, Balaji, Venkat - all came, dubbing a continuous process. Chaitanya told me Sir had allowed him to dub, so I could go for bath etc. Was dozing sitting down when A2 (parents) came (to the Hostel entrance to meet me). Told them that tomorrow is Swami's departure (to Kodai). Decided not to meet after darsan as A2 are leaving immediately after, but Achan (Father) did meet me - also Krishnachandran chettan (one of my paternal first cousins) and Ramankuttychettan (paternal second cousin) + wife + kids. Then, sweet repose till eleven - B'chettan's phone call (Father's cousin) - couldn't get Thyagarajans. Did some dubbing, after lunch another two hours of sleep.
Swami went in the morning for inaugurating some wing of the WFD (general) hospital. Evening bhajan was worth the wait, as I told Kshitij. You have turned a dry desert in my heart into a blooming garden. Packed, put stuff in Music Room. Bed and bucket necessaries for Summer Course one carton box, one bucket, one suitcase, one bed.
