1995-02-13 - Monday - All morning classes - NP, MP, μP - Umesh Sir yet to come. Wasted a lot of time over practicals, finally did only Transfer of Heat as eyepiece had no crosswire in Fresnel's Biprism.
Finished off Biscuits also from M A & J's visit yesterday. Only milk chocolate and Chakka Varatti (jackfruit preserve) are left, along with A's sugar sweets. MP - the poor Prof is missing the gist of Bose-Einstein, Fermi-Dirac statistics - not very clear in the book (MGK Murthy).
Wasting of evening time over practicals and newspaper may be responsible, or maybe my procrastination over telling the boys to talk less - got a place behind pillar for Bhajan - only disapproving photo (was visible from there). So, started (telling my room-mates to talk less) immediately after. Sampath, Ravi Chand, O Srinivas by night. No need to tell Vishnu and myself. Felt very elated - decided to dedicate all these and more, to You.
1995-02-14 - Tuesday - Umesh Sir came back from Parthi, Subramaniam Sir also. So, all classes. 1st hour μP - 49.5, later made 50 (probably meaning that I got 50/50 marks in the mid-semester exam for microprocessors). MP - asked for volunteers to write Special Functions on Chart. QM 50. Finished 1D problems. Wrote Special Functions whole evening - Sir assumes I've finished already. The good Lord let me finish, so that I could give him for correction. Graph for study of heat flopped. Sudhakar's (classmate, Bioscience) prayer hall talk superb. Father attended Office though in Parthi. Swami in a poor lady's house, also in CA.
College bhajans - I sang (I hope) sincerely in the amp. room. So, felt quite close to You. Rewarded with two 50s. (On reflection, previous sentence indicates that I don't offer all to You!) Sudhakar Pant's talk was very elevating. Swami showed them anklets on one foot, Srivatsam also! Appearing in California and saying your m-in-law wants to see her daughter! Telling the boys (in my room) to talk less - I'm leaving their mental change to You! You've done so much - Thank You for the Valentine's Day present!
1995-02-15 - Wednesday - Felt quite sleepy in the morning classes - Umesh Sir M. S. (Molecular Spectroscopy). Pracs - tried Lloyd's mirror till 4:30, asked Arvind, referred Kallard, moved screen closer, got. That is, found that I got, in study hours. Swami Sir called me to set up ONIDA timer, but in a hurry, couldn't finish in 2 minutes. So, late for Bhajan. 'Emperor's New Mind' after calculations of practicals.
Maybe I shouldn't have distributed the milk chocolate Cheriamma (aunt) gave, today - boys linked it with the 50s. Vishnu's crying in study hours made me helpless - finally he slept around 9:30 before 'World this Week'. Problem is, I don't know the reason. Then - a landmark. Ravi Kishore and S. Mahesh were left on the agenda for the "Less Talk" conversation. They were chatting after lights out. I went out - "What should I do, Swami?" "Kal kare so aaj kar" (Do what is to be done tomorrow, today itself.) So I went and told them. Slept, later realized I had tried for a hotline (with You) - and I got it?!
