1996-08-16 - Friday - Morning did beam waist (measurement experiment) using He-Ne successfully. Afternoon 2 seminars, KVR's & S2-3 & S4-5's. Thomas-Fermi & AOM respectively. OK express in 2nd. S2-3 says, "Condensed Matter Physics" in seminars! Gave shirt/pant You gave during summer course for stitching (finally!).

1996-08-17 - Saturday - After morning CSNK's electro-optic seminar (he's improved a lot) UIU (my project work, User Interface for Unix) - just changing a lot of case statements… Tristate latches may be there in the lab, for the interfacing of A/D (hardware). Now for writing records…
1996-08-18 - Sunday - Except for last night (one experiment) no record writing! Morning till night in lab, sorting & listing TTL chips. Key from Patnaik. Breakfast 5:45, so 9:30 to 12:30, then after lunch till 3, then 6-7:45, then from 8:15 to 11:00! Hostel 3rd years' program "PULSE", so gate was open till then… I arrived (at the Hostel, after 11 pm) when Arati was going on.
1996-08-19 - Monday - Sainath Sir suggested getting video cassettes from Piyush Sir for Quiz in Awareness class. Accordingly, took Sikki along (to Mandir) (since Sikki knows the ropes as he's gone to collect Swami's food basket) & met him. He said he doesn't think any suitable cassette is available. Night, asked S4 & worked in lab till 10:10 - "work as long as Vishwanath Sir is in lab" - actually he locked me in & left at 10:10 (forgot!). Sorted linear & discrete components. "Seminar" by Dr. Deekshitulu (maybe this gentleman?), director NISR (? maybe NRSC?). "Remote sensing pioneered in India by (my maternal grandfather) Dr. Pisharoty in studying coconut wilt disease."
1996-08-20 - Tuesday - Morning 5:20 phoned A³ (parents and sister) confirmed they’re getting chips (through Mani Sami). Then lab - no breakfast - sorted & arranged, checking of discrete components & listing is left. Vi microprocessor kit man had come but I couldn’t go for his demo (S² & S⁴ attended) as I had to sit with Sainath Sir & check up questions for tomorrow’s quiz (during Awareness class). & You're coming to college tomorrow… Tuesday mornings! (Prof)² then S²!
1996-08-21 - Wednesday - Morning - went to Aud ~6:45. You came by 7:20! Scheduled to arrive at 8. Drama started, went on till 8:10 or so. Then You spoke for 1 hr 20 mts. I could sit off-stage, so could see You pour love - I was in the 10th row or so, on the left aisle. Nowadays You tell us to sit down as soon as You come & we sit, while You walk - another example of Your "humility".
Awareness quiz was too short - 16 questions, just ½ hr. Then dumb charades & a round of "bull's eye". Back to hardware project - almost restart from beginning.
