1996-12-20 - Friday - Morning, forgot 2nd hour converted to Nuclear and third hour to QE&P (Quantum Electronics and Photonics), so missed KVR's class. QE&P - notemaking from Yariv in store. Slept in the afternoon, so evening went to library to make up in solar cells notes.
Many groups are seeing movies in C8 (room of Hostel, "for getting ideas for Sports Meet"), Pasupathy's grouse that "I MBA exi fellows" prevented them from seeing a dance scene in some movie ...
Heard from PSN that Vishwanath Sir had an accident, spinal injury, in SSSIHMS. Found out from boys in Old Hostel, "Not serious".
1996-12-21 - Saturday - Morning KVR's volte face ⇒ computer lab without notes. Typed "Formulae", "Definitions", etc. Afternoon, 1 pg of KVR's class after his grievances on class cutting for sports meet.
CSNK, Shyama (Prasad) etc have been doing nights out & sleeping in the day for a week or two. "Rumble in the Bronx" (movie was shown in Hostel) - screams and rumbles was exactly what I heard (Jackie Chan). Washed, did QE&P (instead of watching the movie).
GVR & KVA (classmates) went to meet AV - report is grim. No XRay taken as movement is excruciating. Initial paralysis is now gone, but he is out for at least for one semester; later also must restrain ...
1996-12-22 - Sunday - Usual Sunday (which means that we would have gone for morning darshan at 6:45 am or so) except 10 to 12 did QE&P nicely. Afternoon sleep prevented progress in 1001, but 1004 is over and I can give Yariv to Srinivas. "വിശ്വാമിത്രൻ" ("Vishwamitran" - Malayalam book mentioned in a previous post) in all free time.
1996-12-23 - Monday - 1002 was attended by GV Rao and me, 1001 only I was seen, so MS gave his notes to "read up", and an explanation. Afternoon, Srinivas and I went to SSSIHMS to see Vishwanath Sir. Went in jeep, hired by Hostel, which was going to ATP for brake repair & xerox papers, with Jaganmohan Mishra. AV was asleep, so didn't meet. But Swami hadn't gone to SSSIHMS to see him; it was for something else.
Finished "വിശ്വാമിത്രൻ" - so I didn't have to extend it after all. Evening carols practice in Hostel dining hall - School boys came in lines! (Probably this was the first or second time the Higher Secondary School boys were coming to this Hostel for carols practice after their new Hostel was inaugurated - earlier, they also used to stay in the same Hostel.)
