2024-02-09 - A day in the life of ....

From Sai Spiritual Showers of 15 Feb 2024.

Someone had asked me about an update to my 2021 post about the change in my daily routine. I made a "time-log" style table, similar to what I used to make before 2020, and made it slightly prettier by colour-coding "Parents" - P, "Self" - S and "Work-related" - W categories.

Interestingly, the "Parents" category is still lower than the "Self" category! This is similar to most days' pattern, except when my mother's carer is on leave - on such days, a couple of hours more of "Parents" category activities would be needed. And compared to the hard-working people featured in this "Day in the life of a Japanese employee" series, it's not too strenuous, either:)

Some reflections on the use of time - it looks like my "mandir time" is what has been replaced by "parents time". For many years, my "mandir time" used to be predominantly in the "PA system" group, so it was a "seva opportunity" given by the Divine Parent. That "seva opportunity" is now renewed as seva to earthly parents, I guess.

A recurrent thought or slogan for me seems to be "To whom much is given, from him much is expected", or as one of my colleagues put it, "From him much will be extracted":)  That being the case, if someone attempts to praise me for "being a good son", saying "God will bless you", I reply that He already has! "Ela teerchukovali ee runam" ("How can we repay this debt of gratitude") as this song goes. Embedded below.
